Prof. Dr. Elena Makarova participated in this year’s MeshMINT Expert Meeting in Berlin, held from 19–21 May 2025. As part of the international gathering of leading scholars, she contributed a talk on “Fostering Young Women’s Engagement and Retention in STEM: The Role of Gender-Sensitive Role Models.”
In her presentation, Makarova highlighted the importance of representation and inclusive educational practices to promote long-term participation of young women in STEM fields.
The annual MeshMINT expert meetings bring together internationally renowned researchers to explore current trends, share best practices, and discuss diverse perspectives on a selected key topic. The 2025 meeting once again served as a vibrant platform for interdisciplinary exchange and strategic dialogue on advancing gender equity in STEM education.
