DESCRIPTION:The mission of the IAIE is best described in terms of its main 
 aims and means  				 				 				 						 				 				 			 					 				 				 					\
 \r\\n The main aims of the IAIE include:  				 				 				 				 					\\r\\n
 • To  examine the implications of the societal contexts of education and
  the  relationship between society\, nation state and the international  c
 ontexts and the situation of individuals\, groups and minorities within  t
 hem.\\r\\n• To contribute to the development and implementation of  inte
 rcultural education and issues of education in multicultural  societies.\\
 r\\n• To promote the exchange of information\, knowledge and materials  
 about all relevant issues concerning education in multicultural  societies
  amongst teachers\, teacher trainers\, and professionals working  in curri
 culum development\, research and educational policy.\\r\\n• To initiate\
 , react and respond to activities in the field of education of internation
 al and national organizations.\\r\\n• To indiscriminate according to irr
 elevant criteria\, which may  include race\, gender\, age\, language\, nat
 ionality\, religion\, sexual  orientation\, political view and ideology.\\
 r\\n The means include:\\r\\n• By preparing six issues a year of the in
 ternational journal Intercultural Education\, published by Routledge.\\r\\
 n•  By supporting\, sponsoring and organizing\, seminars\, workshops and
   conferences on issues of education in a multicultural society.\\r\\n• 
 By encouraging international cooperation in curriculum and materials devel
 opment in the field.\\r\\n• By assisting the development of appropriate 
 initial and in-service teacher education.\\r\\n• By encouraging cooperat
 ion with other organizations which have similar or complementary aims as t
 he IAIE.\\r\\n• By disseminating a newsletter 4 times a year with inform
 ation about the field for membership.
